John Key has a sense of humour. In this incident, he was asked to enter a barred cage… and he went along, and then pick up a peice of soap. Note that in NZ jails are not coeducational. The white ribbon people, who are all about no violence for women, may be finding enlightenment.
Yeah, Right.
White Ribbon said it asked John Key about his appearance on The Rock on Wednesday, which led to a petition for him to be dropped as an ambassador for the charity.
“We have reached out to the Prime Minister, and we are informed that he did not know what was about to occur, and did not at the time comprehend the rape references or make any. We take the Prime Minister at his word,” the charity said in a statement on its website.
“As a result of this incident, White Ribbon will be writing to all our ambassadors to remind them of our expectations, and the commitment they have made to the campaign. Our and their pledge is to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence towards women. We will continue to try and uphold that.”
Last Wednesday, Mr Key was taking part in an interview at the Rock when he was persuaded to enter a cage that had been brought into the studio.
Most of the time the white ribbon does not care about male violence. They want stronger and more vicious laws to “protect women”: they want violence to include everything the most brain dead Duluth protocol academic thinks it should, such as using logic or data, and they want rape to expand to any intrusion.
While Ribbon are SJW: they are petunias.
SJWs are locusts on the body politic, ravenously devouring everything they touch and leaving only devastation in their wake. Their fuel is feigned moral indignation, their weapon the mob, their goal the complete obliteration of dissenting viewpoints. SJWs regard their feeeeeelings as the ultimate arbiter of morality, and when anyone is unfortunate enough to offend them, they will do anything they can to hound that poor soul out of polite society.
I know this because I’ve been the target of social justice mobs for my entire writing career, most of the time inadvertently. Whether I’m arguing that girls have too much self-esteem, warning men to stay away from tattooed freaks, or getting booted off of Twitter by a wave of false abuse reports, SJWs follow me around like a gang of zonked-out paparazzi. I’ve been called every name under the sun, received enough death threats to fill a book, and even been the target of real-life stalking campaigns.
Yet, I’m still here.
All the SJWs’ horses and all the SJWs’ men gender-neutral carrots will never shut me up. Why? Because I refuse to give in to them. I don’t apologize for my views when accused of the latest “-ism” or “phobia.” I don’t try to seek common ground with the mob. I don’t hide. On the contrary, I mock my enemies and ridicule them. Not only that, since I’m self-employed, the social justice wackos can’t shut me up by going after my income.
My strategies for dealing with the SJW hordes are the same ones Day lays out in SJWs Always Lie. It’s merely because of this that the book is worth reading. While it’s light on philosophizing about why SJWs exist, Day’s practical tips on handling their crybaby outbursts—as well as explanations of the mechanics behind those tips—make it an insanely valuable read, particularly if you haven’t made your finances anti-fragile yet.
New Zealand has a moderate problem with intimate partner violence. Yes, that is what it is called in the journals. We do not have a big problem; other cultures do: Hindus, Muslims and some Pacific cultures are quite violent. We do not have a big problem with rape. Norway does, because a fair number of the immigrants do not consider rape a crime but a right of conquest.
But the culture of offense and complaint continues. We do not look at what we do right, nor repent of our errors. Instead we double down.
And white ribbon is part of this. Boycott them.
UPDATE.
One of the Kiwi Petunias has decided to burn the White Ribbon Campaign down. He is appealing to authority via a petition because John Key said that christmas interviews are sarcastic and at his expense and should be not taken seriously.
John Key has denied he was in on the stunt and White Ribbon Campaign has accepted his position that he didn’t know it was a rape joke, and didn’t understand it at the time.
I feel sorry for White Ribbon but the fact that more than 10,000 people are now calling on them to dump Key as an ambassador puts them in a very difficult position.
So if, like me, you expect more of White Ribbon, and more of our Prime Minister, then add your support to my petition with Action Station to dump John Key as an ambassador.
Until then, and sadly, I’m taking a different pledge. I can’t wear a white ribbon again until White Ribbon Campaign start acting in line with their stated mission and values.
Boycott them anyway because they don’t accept that women can be violent, and the Duluth model is institutional violence against men. And let the SJW burn another organization to a dead shell.
