Every morning in my inbox I have a series of concerns and issues. If I switch on the news there is war and rumours of terror. But we have good news.
It is going to get far worse.
The people of the lie will continue to manipulate, to believe their own untruths, until their sin, like that of the Amorites, is complete.
And they will lie wearing the power suit of politicians and business, the robes of scholars and judges, and the attire of priests and pastors.
Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
(Matthew 24:1-14 ESV)
They lie. I’m quoting Mundabor about a slide show, funded by millionaires, that was projected on St Peter’s. I have less horror than he has of this happening, but if someone tried to do that to my kirk I would be livid.
All that I have written above will not cause any scandal in you if you have lost every sense of the sacred; if you think it normal that women wear Burkas; if you think you should encourage a culture in which the demon goddess Kali has any place; if, in a word, to you nothing is sacred, and Christianity is only an option.
I can’t wait for the next ping-pong tournament in St Peter, with the paid bloggers and paid journalists explaining to us that there’s nothing wrong, because ping-pong expresses the joy of Catholicism. Or the next slide-show next to the Tabernacle, with the same paid people explaining to us that near the woman in Burka there was a lamb, clearly showing that the slide show was Catholic.
How sad that there should be people swallowing all this whole. But again, they swallow it whole because they want to and, having lost the fear of the Lord, do not think of the consequences of embracing this, at the same time, sacrilegious and heretical exercise.
Reprobation is all around us. The Evil Clown will lead countless to damnation. But those whom he will lead to damnation will be, with no exception, Reprobates. You see this ocean of Reprobates around us exactly in episodes like this one: a massive desecration, and the cries of the (few) faithful Catholics met with mockery, or with the desperate attempt of paid journalists and bloggers to bend over backwards and explain to us how this desecration and sacrilege was, in some strange way, Catholic.
Sheesh! It reminds one of David Cameron assuring us that do-called “gay marriage” is “conservative” because it “protects the family”!
It is ridiculous. It is wrong. It is nonsense. And we are told it was right: the next step will be that we are not allowed to speak.
Bottom line: hurt feelings supposedly cancel free speech. No, that’s exactly the opposite of the meaning of the First Amendment. How can a college president fail to understand that and fail to defend the campus against that sort of Jacobin despotism? The answer is they are hostage to dogmas cooked up by race-and-identity careerists who don’t really care to make distinctions between what is true and what is not true — and that is now the official tone of higher education in America. It’s a short hop from there to not knowing the difference between what is real and what is unreal.
The phenomenon of demented lone gunmen killing strangers and innocents will morph into civil insurrection, especially as the major political parties break apart and the loosed factions set out to settle their old scores by whatever means they can. History knows that violence is infectious and that social inhibitions melt away when the conditions are ripe. Groups give themselves permission to act outside the bounds of normal behavior, and all of a sudden atrocity is the order of the day.
Both Trump and Hillary have the mojo to destroy their respective parties and I think the probability is that they will. Unfortunately, we don’t live under a parliamentary system that recognizes smaller factions as legitimate parties, so we are sure to live through an era of political disorder. What emerges from that could be a very severe polity, since it will be based on the wish to restore order at all costs.
Consider for a second the interactions that the people of God have had with the pagans around them. Jacob and the Patriarchs were sent to Egypt until the sins of the Amorites were complete. The tribes of Israel were punished for apostasy. The murderous cycle of sacrifice by the Punic empire was stilled — by Rome, removing one temptation at the same time as Greek Syncretism was rejected by the Maccabees.
And I still consider that God raised up Spain to take out the Mayans. with the mass sacrifice, and perhaps the British Empire was needed and allowed to grow so when the cult of the National Socialists happened an empire stood against them, not merely England.
But our elite is now apostate. They believe their lies. And they are now foolish. Expect persecution in the death throes of this dying polity. And take hope. Our kingdom is not of this world. And a nation is not the polity.
