Beware the maenids

Albion awakes is one of those intellectual efforts that will bear fruit, but not as you expect it to. Since Britain is now post Christian (and Australia anti Christian) then if you are going to love your country (and you ought to) you have to think about how to express this is a way that will resonate with people who do not know their left from right, and are proud about this.

So they start with defining spirituality as orientated to God and the good. They hope that they do not need to explain the good, nor God, and note that many who talk about spirituality are not interested in God or goodness but instead knowledge and power. This is a false lead.

How many of these were actually spiritual? Spiritual in the sense of totally oriented towards God and the good. Spiritual in the way that the saints were spiritual. And it seems to me that remarkably few were. I know one can’t judge a person’s soul but, if you go by what they taught, you can form an opinion and most of these people were concerned with knowledge or power or expanding human consciousness or uncovering deeper levels of reality because of frustration with the world as normally understood. Some had psychic powers. But how many were really motivated by love of God? Indeed, how many truly acknowledged him? The answer seems to me to be not that many. But, as I was informed by my teachers, “it is not necessary to chase after the many mysteries of existence. Live simply in the heart and all mysteries will in time become known to you.” This is not an injunction to give up any attempt at understanding life but a matter of putting things in context and not being distracted from the essential, the essential being love of God.

The greek myths of the Maenid or Bacchantae would argue that the seeking of spirituality or eseoteric knowledge leads one to experience the divine unveiled, and that drives one not merely into madness, but into committing horror. Basic decency is lost. Because one is not seeking God, but instead running with the hounds. The Maenids were female and truly feared, with good reason.

Who cares about due process when the game’s afoot, the horn is sounding and the hounds baying, and the prey are on the run? Tally ho!

To be sure; nevertheless, ahem; must remember the rules, eventually. Witch hunts are Bad.

But, then, just as the fact that you are paranoid does not mean that they are not really after you, so the fact that this is a witch hunt does not mean that its prey are not true witches, who deserve their fate, and must be destroyed to save the body politic. They have for decades stoked the fires of Moloch, which rise now to consume them. To Hell with them, then; kill them all, according to their own religion, and let their god and daemon sort them out.

The postmoderns have left reality behind. They have lived their delusions. They are now destroying themselves. It is easy to merely let them do so, and be with those who seek sainthood in quiet living. But that is not what we have to do. We have to say that which the times call wrong. That it is not good to be a maenid, a red guard. You are searing your conscience. Yes, there is evil in this world.

But the error of the maenid is that in fighting error for the sake of her daemon, she has become it.
