Sometimes you have to give credit to the government. Australia has a hard-nosed attitude to criminals: if they came from somewhere else, to there they shall go. That is their business: I don’t live in Australia, I’m not an Australian citizen.

But, as New Zealanders and Australians can freely travel from one country to another to work and live, there are consequences for NZ when things change. And, given that the Aussies drop criminals onto us, they Kiwi government decided there need to be some safety measures in place.

The Returning Offenders (Management and Information) Bill was passed in November without opposition. It was designed to give the same sort of oversight to the stream of deportees arriving from Australia as offenders who had served a similar sentence in New Zealand.

The deportations are the result of a law passed in Australia in November 2014 which automatically cancelled the immigration status of any non-Australian citizen who had been sentenced to a year or more in prison, either in a single sentence or in a series of cumulative sentences.

Many were sent to detention centres around Australia including the infamous Christmas Island Centre which was visited by Labour MP Kelvin Davis — that visit prompted Prime Minister John Key to accuse Labour of supporting murderers and rapists. He has since apologised in Parliament for making the comment.

Of the 70 per cent of offenders who have come under the automatic supervision of Corrections, 40 have had additional special conditions imposed on them, said Ms Adams. The law says special conditions may include electronic monitoring, a residential restriction and a requirement to take prescription medicine — although only if the prisoner agreed.

Last week Corrections Minister Judith Collins said Auckland-based Prisoners’ Aid and Rehabilitation Society (PARS) would be given a $100,000 grant to help settle deportees.

That is the second grant PARS has received to help settle deportees from Australia — last October it was given $100,000.

PARS staff will meet the deportee at the airport, and help the person sign up to bank accounts, benefits, an IRD account and arrange immediate accommodation. That support is ongoing.

As of December 30 last year, there were 183 New Zealanders held in detention centres, including 158 men and 25 women.

But the same people who are protesting the Aussies sending our feral subpopulation back home are wanting us to import people who don’t want to adapt to living in a country that was founded by Christians: the English and the newly converted Maori.

Leftists are absolutely wedded to the notion that we are all alike, that we all share the same values, and we all want harmony and justice. We don’t. Like it or not, there are a lot of people out there who want violence and misogyny, who want the right to marry off their daughters, or to mutilate their genitals. Some people are rapists, some are jihadists, and some take great pleasure from tearing the clothes from a woman in a public square on New Year’s Eve. This leftist naivety that causes you to sanctimoniously advocate for open borders on behalf of your fellow human being doesn’t take any account of the fact that the executioner is a fellow human being, the sharia oppressor is a human being, the mutilator is a human being. Not all human beings have good intentions, try to learn that and then use your common sense to determine who you want to have around you, and who you do not.

But here’s the one that leftists really don’t like – not all cultures are equal either. Some cultures are far superior to others, this is nowhere more evident than on the treatment of women. You rightly point out that sexual assault is a serious matter regardless of where it takes place, but the fact of the matter is that these attacks did not take place in Germany prior to now, and German men were not responsible for them. These were attacks carried out by immigrants in Germany, and most have come from Muslim-majority countries.

We watch the feral part of our population when our neighbours send them back. We should screen out the same feral part of the population who want to immigrate. Refugee or not. Because the cultures of the middle east (and naive meddling by neocons and leftists who think all cultures are equal, and therefore do more damage than their numbers would suggest) have left the area a hellhole.

And the basis of our culture is the Christian faith. The elite may have abandoned it, but a plurality of New Zealanders have not. Without it, we will fail and fall. For in a religious war — and that is what we have — the irreligious will lose the moral high ground to the religious. Regardless of how much the virtue signal.

Monitoring those who are violent is expensive and needed. Far better to not let such in, when we have such a choice. We have to accept our own. We do not need to accept those of other nations. We should keep the Orcs out.
