God rules the church.

It seems that Christians are under attack in the West. But that is nothing compared with what our brothers and sisters in Islamic societies go through.

We look at the rampant feminism infecting the church, the compromise, the pressure to accept as right that which is against nature (queer theory does not merely apply to what you do in bed) and the rejection of all traditions. The author of the woodpile report sums up the situation this week, and it would cause despair.

Again, John Galt’s words: “the Watchmen will soon go quiet. Their voices limited, terminated, or no longer heard for self-preservation purposes… The voices of freedom are about to go silent.”

Night is falling. The birds are roosting, the hyenas are out, yet there are still those innocents who believe the fast-departing sunny afternoon will return momentarily. All during the long twilight, those who know different, who’ve seen different, have said all they can say. They’re weary and talked out. They’ve told you who and what your adversaries are. They’ve told you to have a clear-eyed, sober grip on who and what you are. Your intentions count only in the doing. There’ll be no time outs or second chances, no shortcuts or gimmicks, no turning your head away.

Wherever we look now, leadership are realizing that the limits of fiscal and monetary policy have been reached and now changing rules, limiting freedom, and outright confiscation are the only way to maintain a status quo.

In Woodpile Report 312, Remus said, “if you wonder what a catastrophic collapse looks like, look around.” Then he described the fast-approaching formal repudiation of the Republic and outlined what to expect at the onset of martial law, saying, “this is the orderly part, the part that takes the trouble to appear legal. Compared to what follows it’s almost cordial and gentlemanly. For those who stay away from crowds, this part is doable.”

SO let’s turn to Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 37:1-14

1The hand of the LORD came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2He led me all round them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. 3He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.” 4Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. 6I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the LORD.”

7So I prophesied as I had been commanded; and as I prophesied, suddenly there was a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8I looked, and there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them; but there was no breath in them. 9Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, mortal, and say to the breath: Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” 10I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood on their feet, a vast multitude.

11Then he said to me, “Mortal, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.’ 12Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. 14I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken and will act, says the LORD.”

Although it appears that the church is being destroyed, we should not despair. As God produced an army out of bones — and consider that he took the survivors of the Shoah and made them into an army that liberated Israel when the Arab league and the Arab nations had the full intent to finish the job the Nazis had started and make the world judenfrei four years after Berlin was overtaken by the Soviets — then we do not need to despair for the church. The church is God’s and he will revive it.

Our nations, on the other hand, are as clay on a potter’s wheel.

When I look around me, I tend to say, “Come swiftly, Lord Jesus!” and then when I look at the individuals whose salvation I am urgently praying for (the list gets longer every day) I say, “But not until ….”

I am glad I am not in charge. Which is, I suppose, why my most tearful prayers always end with the words, “Thy will be done”.

Are you among those whose theology includes the pre-Trib eschatology, and if so, what do you think is the position of the unsaved during the Trib?

  2. I am niether pre trib or post trib. I think that we need to pay great attention to the letters of the church and let God fulfil the prophecies.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Jesus will be correcting quite a few dispensationalists when he returns. None of us understand the mind of God.

Should the muslims in the west reach critical mass. Prepare for mass beheadings in a church near you.

Oh golly yes. I’m really looking forward to having all my errors corrected and never having to worry about a) a sin nature and b) if I’ve got what I’m supposed to be doing right ever again, through all eternity.

  5. And the church to then have explosive growth.

Do you think the church would likewise experience explosive growth if under soviet style oppression like in soviet Russia.

In those countries people simply disappeared. Erased from history books, all pictures of them gone. Died in “Accidents” or committed “Suicide”

As far as I can tell those countries. Under Communist regimes seem to make the exception to the rule of explosive church growth until its fall. As the martyrdom seem to be well hidden away from any observers through secrecy.

  7. The trouble is that the church grows explosively under oppression but does not cope well with modernity. And the gulag ideas ran Russia — you never believed a rumour until it had been confirmed with an official denial.

The church is growing is Islamic countries. But that is not happening… officially.

Enlightened Modernity tends to kill all genuine religions. It leaves either corrupted religion in its wake, perversion or a former shell of itself.

  9. Nah, that is the standard whiggish narrative of infinite progress. The whigs have been proclaiming the death of religion for the last 400 years, before the birth and death (and fossilization in the house of Lords) of the Whig party.

When we see real persecution in the west then we’ll see the shape of the Church. Its not going to look like Sunday tea and coffee as we now know it. It will bring the faithful to life as it always has. It won’t be nice but it will be living for the Kingdom and I pray I will have the courage to do what is expected.
