The end is not here. Yet.

There have always been millennial cults, and there have also been those who completely ignore the end times: and see the world as continuing on as some form of Newtonian Clockwork Universe.

These errors are ancient. Paul had to correct them. For this is not the place where God rules, but the place of a hidden kingdom: we do not have a temple extant in Jerusalem and we have no high priest in this world.

But the Peoples of this world rebel against those who are named for God and of God:

Interestingly, the piece reports that European Jews tend to believe that anti-Semitism is coming mostly from Muslim populations and from the European left-wing, not from the European right-wing. It appears that left-wing hostility to orthodox religion and to religious practices like circumcision is combining with Muslim anger about Israel, making the EU an increasingly unfriendly place for Jews. If these trends continue to gather momentum, we may soon see a significant minority of Jews leaving their home countries for more tolerant shores.

(as a quick note to the right-wing with their concern about banksters — some of them are Jewish. But most are not: the Jews, in general, like the chinese are too smart to be part of such an unstable system).

It will get a lot worse before Christ comes. For the minions of that who opposes Christ have come, but they have not conquered — even though Europe was raked over the coals two generations ago, the antisemites in the NSDAP lost, as they did in Soviet Russia, and we pray they do now.

Thessalonians 2:1-5, 13-17

1As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we beg you, brothers and sisters, 2not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as though from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here. 3Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction. 4He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God. 5Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you?

13But we must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the first fruits for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14For this purpose he called you through our proclamation of the good news, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter.

16Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, 17comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word

Jesus said that when he returns it will be obvious. Like lightning: all will know, for the blind will see and the deaf will hear, or feel the thunder. And we know that none will be able to stand before God at that time, for his works will be seen as just, and our petty issues will disappear.

Our duty is simple and two-fold. It is to stand firm in the truth of the Gospel. And it is to continue to do good — by word and deed. We may not get a reward in this life. But the end will come, and at that point we need to be within the grace of God.
