Administrivia for November.

Firstly, I have managed to get Debian running on an Samsung ultrabook — there is an error in the Debian installer where you have to NOT select Master Boot record (because then it will install to your USB drive) but instead select your boot drive. With some BIOS changes (I have legacy and UEFI both enabled) it now boots and I have got Debian testing running with lxde and xfce.

Secondly, it’s fairly clear that Disqus is what most people use for comments and it is now enabled BUT comments are available using other systems as well. And I do sync them.

Finally, if any of you follow twitter, I have enabled endomondo and fitbit, and endomondo was posting everything. That has been switched off: they are useful tools for monitoring sleep & activity, but that’s my business.

But this is my town.

And, finally, some Gillian Welch (with a Neil Young cover thrown in)

UPDATES…

I am going through disqus and whitelisting people I know. In the process, I have rescued some comments from the spam bin, and they are up here. If you put lots of links in, you will be back in moderation, unfortunately.
