The end will come. Rejoice in salvation [Rev 8]

There are many who are seeing patterns relating to the end of time and the fall of the West. They preach fear, and spend a significant amount of time in Daniel and Revelations. A number of functional cults, such as the Jehovah’s Witness, base their theology on misinterpretations of these passages.

Which were given for our comfort in times of trouble, so we would know that there is justice and accountability to come.

And that there will be no question when the end comes. It will be dramatic. No one will be able to hide it. It will not be able to be suppressed.

When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

(Revelation 8:1-5 ESV)

The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

(Luke 10:17-20 ESV)

We can get distracted. By the troubles of this time, by the business of our life, and by the more spectacular passages of the Bible. We can rejoice in spiritual warfare.

The trouble is that many of these things are good, used correctly. But incorrect use leads to error, sin, and death. For we are all fallen. We are all faithless.

And CHrist calls us not to contemplate the fall of Lucifer, but instead that our names are written in heaven. May they be in the book fo life. For our end will come, in this era or at the end of time, and the books will then be opened.
