The elite will be akin to the dogs [Rev 22]

What is our work in this day? How do cleanse ourselves? There is no shower that can take away our guilt: we can bathe and scrub but our sin remains.

But if we forgive our brother who has wronged us, then we are forgiven.

And if we keep ourselves from the corruption of this age, we may achieve entrance into the city to come.

Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.

“Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’ So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

(Matthew 18:21-35 ESV)

Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

(Revelation 22:14-21 ESV)

Who are outside? Dogs and sorcerers: Dogs refers more to infidels than canines, and sorcerers are those who consider that the spiritual realm can be manipulated by formulae: that they can bind and use by the mystical arts not merely men but angels, particularly the fallen. The sexually immoral: yes what you do matters. Being faithful to your vow matters. Keeping your marriage going matters. Waiting until being wed matters.

And I do not here mean our fallen secular form of marriage, even though, diluted and full of falsehood, there is utility and truth still in the broken shards made by family lawyers. I mean marriage as Christ meant it: knowing that the Duluth trained social workers would call it abuse, for the husband is commanded to lead and to hold accountability.

Those who practice deceit often align and defend those who murder, steal, or are immoral. It is all part of a package. These people are opposed to the work of God.

But… we have all sinned. We can examine our conscience, and see that we have practiced falsehood, even if we neither rob, nor murder, or are apostate or adulterers or fornicate. Yet the spirit says we should come. The blood of Christ covers much. If we reform and repent, the Spirit will lead us. Though we are broken and stumble, the Spirit can lead us.

And all sins can be forgiven but one: deliberately shutting God out, damning the Holy Spirit. So, while it is still time, turn. The world groans and is troubled and pleads for peace. That peace will not arrive until death is destroyed.

But that peace is delayed so we can repent and be cleansed. So turn, turn again, and reform yourselves: reform your churches, and seek not the corrupted power of this age. The elite will be akin to the dogs. Outside the city of God, and expelled from the kingdom.

Do not be them, and do not be like them.
