We are reaching the end of Revelations. And there is one message for the faithful here.
Jesus is still coming soon.
Any delay is for our mercy, so that we repent, and return to Christ.
And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”
“And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”
And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”
“Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
We are not told everything. We do know that the day and the hour are known to the Father: but him alone. The rest of us wait. The God who does not change delayed Israel arriving in the land of Caanan until the Amorties were truly rotten, and needed pruning. The God who is active, who intervenes in history, who told the King of Assyria that he was placed there for a purpose, and if he over reached he would fall, and his son or grandson that he was weighed, found wanting, adn would fall.
A God who was is not fragile. Unline the piers in the photo, which have been destroyed in the last winter’s storm, or my tripod. which was almost blown over — you cannot see the wind and the wind-driven sand in the photo.
Unlike our societes: unlike our rules, our armies. For they will all pass.
Something far more real will arrive.
And on that day, all knees, in heaven and earth, will weaken, and we will fall to the floor. Either in adoration and praise. for our salvation has arrived, or in abject fear, as a terrible judge has come.
Pray it is the former. This society will burn up. Trust it not.
