Words matter [Matt 12]

A simple point here: you can judge people by their words. What do they bring out? Is it good? Is the consequences of being their friend that you are built up or you are dragged down?

For your words influence others. Christ says we will be judged for every careless word we speak. We will be accountable for our comments on social media.

For we speak of what drives us.

It is worth then considering that Christ was not joking when he said things. So when he said he was greater than Solomon or Jonah, he was being serious. And he is serious when he said that no sign would be given to that generation.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

The comment about social media was not made in jest. It is monitored, by the owners, who personalize advertisements (FaceSplat, please note: I have enough cameras). And that is now a vector for the legal weasels.

The fight against terrorism has gone beyond tracking down the money of and financial support for terrorist groups.

“Something else is causing these young people to get up, grab knives and actually stab Israelis. And that ‘something’ is incitement. This is nothing new in the Palestinian Authority or in Gaza,” Darshan-Leitner said. “But, typically, it has been disseminated through sermons in mosques, teachings in schools, speeches in public squares and on TV. Today, it is being spread like wildfire through social media networks.”

And while antisemitism is not new, “what we are seeing today is a phenomenon with a different feel to it – with kids not only sharing their intention to become martyrs for Allah, and encouraging one another to do the same, but immediately acting on it.”

Darshan-Leitner says Facebook doesn’t remove the offending posts even when they are notified by users. “All you have to do is open Facebook right now. And you will be able to see that nothing whatsoever has been done.”

Shurat HaDin is trying another approach by turning to the American court system to address the problem. “We thought that fighting it requires minimizing the incitement. And this is why we are trying to get an injunction against Facebook to shut down those kind of pages and monitor the site to prevent other ones from appearing.” said Darshan-Leitner.

How can Facebook stop the appearance of posts that encourage hateful and deadly acts against Israelis and Jews?

“It is ridiculous to say that Facebook cannot monitor these things. Notice its millions of algorithms that know exactly what you like to wear and eat, who your friends are, what music you’re interested in, etc. How else do ads aimed specifically at you mysteriously appear in your feed and on the side of the page? If it’s got algorithms for consumer purposes, it can have algorithms for other purposes, as well.”

The class action lawsuit will be filed Monday in San Francisco.

One does not need to look far. The hatred of the left is obvious, the cowardice of mainline conservatives equally so. And the hatred of those of Christ or of Israel is proclaimed from the rooftops.

We will be held accountable. This generation will be judged: and for those looking for a sign, it is likely there will be none. Until Christ comes in glory, and all our lies become shredded.

    1. Yeah, they hateth the Vox and the Patriarchs and any of our sisters who say the truth. The Grits will, as usual, be a disaster, but proclaim it as a triumph.

  1. I would argue a ~40% drop in the CAD and ~60% drop in crude oil is what elected Trudeau. But Canada is going to get it hard from putting fools in office. Just as we did.
