Morticia (Paige) has taken her site down. We are reassured by the TC people that she has other priorities at present, and may be back. However TKI managed to annoy people and so was punished.

Speaking of bodies and temples, I’m making the farewell tour. I got threatened with a doxing because I torqued off some determined people with the tattoo article and was dumb enough to use the same email for another site which had photos that may or may not have gotten traced to a linkedin account. I’m not taking any chances. I may or may not be back in another capacity under a different name.

Why? Because he said tramp stamps are on tramps. Because he linked together tattoos with poor life choices. Because he offended the hierarchy. Because he made it into Reddit. (I’ve checked, I have not done so).

There are two approaches. One is to blog under your real name. And then you will at times get shunned. The other is to set up a completely different ID — different email, different website. use your cat’s visa to pay for it or a free host… and make sure you never, ever mention your kids, where you live, what kind of work you do… etc.

I gave up on anonymity a while ago. There are very few people in the intersection of mental health and Calvinism and university and Dunedin. Either my skill set is unique or I’m weird. But, again, I’m older, established in my career, and my personal views have never been secret. I’m unemployable in any firm that screens using HR (with their politically correct chicks filtering out anyone who has a spark of creativity, or balls, or a spine), but I choose to be employed on my research record.

TKI is 23. He does not have that luxury.

It behooves us who are older, meaner, and who have some mana (power, clout, influence) to shelter those who will eventually replace us. And for those who do not live in the few remaining areas of freedom (the Antipodes being one of them) then tradecraft and encryption be your tools, and stay away from the cyber crowds, as well as the high population density areas in the real world.
