Holiday notes — part of a series.

I am now a few days into my three weeks annual leave. Some quick notes…

  1. You are never quite off when you have your cellphone connected to your work email. I do, I have, and I have forwarded some emails for a project this morning.
  2. It is amazing how much calmer you are after a few days of 10 h sleep. And how much less hungry.
  3. Teenage kids recover three times faster than you do.
  4. There are too many homes for sale in this holiday town. Big ones. Small ones. It looks like keeping two sets of mortgage and rates paid is a tad too much, particularly as the average house price in the big city less than two hours away is 600K and some suburbs have average prices over a million.  The average wage is 60K: this is unsustainable.
