The ones called fools may be truthtellers.

I cannot spell. And this leads to people considering that my thoughts are trivial: throwing a quick insult — he claims to be an academic, but spell he cannot. Um, yes…

Let me explain. An academic paper will be revised not once, or twice — unlike this blog which gets written basically as one draft — but ten times, fifteen times. You do not write these papers solo, but as a team. I normally revise things once or twice before sharing them, and the draft paper will often be revised ten, fifteen times before submission and will need further revision after peer review.

During that time everyone looks at the text and everyone finds the spelling mistakes. But tweets? Blogs? The proofreader here is electronic, and has too small a vocabulary.

Besides, the world accounts those who tell the truth as fools.

1 Corinthians 1:20-31

20Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, God decided, through the foolishness of our proclamation, to save those who believe. 22For Jews demand signs and Greeks desire wisdom, 23but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.

26Consider your own call, brothers and sisters: not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, 29so that no one might boast in the presence of God. 30He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31in order that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Within the church, we should be deeply concerned with the truth. We should cherish all those who seek the truth. We do not have to like the conclusions, but we need to be part of the truth industry, not the lies industry, or the censorship industry. Wrong ideas should not phase us: most of them have been raised previously and have been answered — and in logic, repetition is indeed good.

Brother Aaron neatly explains this: he may have left the church, but like any preachers kid, he cannot leave the parsonage:

The Truth Industry.

Oh, claim I’m being grandiose and thinking highly of myself, but that really is what our industry is – the truth. And if you think about it, that is precisely the product we offer.

The irony of course is how this industry even formed and, even more so, to whom me and all the other people who work in the truth industry owe our new-found careers. For if you think about it, we owe our success to (by my estimation) 8 groups of people. These people have allowed me and hundreds of others to sleep in till 11AM, work from anywhere in the world, tell our bosses to shove it, have 100% freedom in how we work, and, above all else, given us a monopoly on the largest and most untapped market. These 8 groups are:

Socialists/Democrats/Politicians
Feminists
Parents Who Divorce
Absentee Fathers
Wimpy Fathers (those who stick around, but are emasculated and not real men)
Public Schools
The Media
and the University System

And the market they’ve kindly handed to us on a silver platter are:

Delusional people who they’ve all lied to and are now desperately seeking the truth.

Permit me to explain.

There is the real world. This world is based in reality. And governing this real world are not only physical and scientific laws, but hardline economic and social laws that cannot be violated:

Everybody needs to work
Men don’t like fat chicks
Women like strong, manly men
The nuclear family is the best unit to raise children
Specialized skills are in higher demand

etc.

The closer people or a society live by these rules, the better and more successful their lives will be. And over the eons humans have slowly reversed engineered these social laws and incorporated them into society either through actual law or passed-down “wisdom.”

But what if somebody wanted to circumvent these laws? What if somebody was lazy or unethical and wanted to profit off of society? Well, they’d simply realize that the real world is very tough, sometimes, not fair. Heck, the real world is brutal often times. So an unethical/evil person would capitalize on these unfortunate facts of life and lie to people telling them what they WANT to hear, and not what they NEED to hear:

You don’t have to work for a living.
Fat is beautiful
You are oppressed and entitled to other people’s money.
You are not responsible for your own mistakes
Etc.

And these lies are perpetrated on society by the aforementioned 8 groups of people.

And Brother Larry produces for us a list of good tactics to use.

If you are on my side, but this is how you debate, shut up. You’re making us look bad. Good arguing should consist of compelling rhetoric which is backed up with facts and logic. If your tactics are to shut down debate, you are an idiot. It should never be to shut down or scare off, but to WIN.

THE LEFT WING INTERNET ARGUING CHECKLIST

Skim until Offended
Disqualify that Opinion
Attack, Attack, Attack
Disregard Inconvenient facts
Make Shit Up
Resort to Moral Equivalency
Concern Trolling
When all else fails, Racism!

So let’s break this down so you know what to look for, and you can have a good laugh as people who have zero substance, critical thinking skills, or facts make fools of themselves!

Now, the left, particularly on Twitter, are going to be offended with you. They are going to call you a troll, or find something in your links that offend them. Apparently one petal considers I spelt Calvinist wrong. I did: it’s useful as it is because it means that people go straight to “disqualify all he says” rather than “making shite up” or “Raciss” (hes that is not spelt correctly, but since Alte is no longer posting her memes about the Democratic Black Plantation need to be kept alive).

I think we can take some things from this, and many other similar items. Do not expect to be liked. Do not expect to he heard. Do not expect to be understood.

Instead, if you are living according to the truth in this world, you will be misunderstood, insulted, and if you are lucky you will not be punished by the authorities and the powers of this age.

But it has always been so for those who tell truth: that truth itself has been subverted by the postmodernist who consider this mere Whiggish History, and (as dead white males) irrelevant. The provincialism of the Left, at present, is depressing. I preferred it when they used logic, not emotion.
