Quote of the week.

Hugo Schwyzer has quit writing feminist columns as a straight male. He was asked why there were not many men like him around. His comment was — who would want to do this?, and expanded.

If you look at the men who are writing about feminism, they toe the line very carefully. It’s almost like they take their cues from the women around them. Men are afraid of women’s anger. It’s very hard for men to stand up to women’s anger.

I don’t like feminism. I think Hugo is at times a fool, has undue influence, but at least he thinks and if his health and family need him to go down for a while, he has my good wishes and a prayer for enlightenment.

Which he sorely needs. For his allies write shit like this

It’s a sign of the patriarchy that this guy is even listened to at all, by anyone. He doesn’t seem to get that his entire career was hatebait for clicks and pageviews. Men’s Right’s dudes hate him on principle. Feminists hate him because he doesn’t seem to understand what we actually want. Like right now, I clicked on this just to read what insane, insulting garbage he was spewing this time. I actually kind of hoped it would just be a simple “I realized I was the problem.” Dude, I know you’re reading this. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM

Well Salonierre is either a girl or is in the internet version of drag. And her bitterness is the problem. Which does not affect me: it does not. I don’t want approval from feminists — nor do I worry if they project their anger towards me.

I would rather seek beauty. Perhaps I will grow and seek righteousness. But bending to meet the approval of a person simply because they have a vagina, or being scared of anger — is demeaning. The feminists have broken Hugo. I pray that he is healed, and can stand against the memes that have destroyed and crippled him.
