Those who God would damn he first makes stupid. Those he would have their consciences pricked and turn to him. Not in joy as much as in tears. For they are aware of the sins in their lives, and the weaknesses they have.

Those who are shunned and called traitors, akin to Levi, a tax collector, a collaborator with the empire, hated by the nationalists, are called. But those who glorify in their transgressions, and call them power are fools.

And yes, I am talking as much about the gluttons as the other notorious sinners. You cannot make up some of these things.

After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.

And Levi made him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”

whoredom, wine, and new wine, which take away the understanding.

For a spirit of whoredom has led them astray, and they have left their God to play the whore.

under oak, poplar, and terebinth, because their shade is good.
Therefore your daughters play the whore, and your brides commit adultery.

Before I disappeared for a holiday (without the kids) son one was talking about how stupid the current system was of compulsory baccalaureate. How the arts had been ruined, and if there was still a true academic system he would probably take the vow of poverty and read history rather than continue down the trade path he is on.

Between grilling me on the clinical issues for his next case study. (I am taking two weeks: he is six weeks from finals).

For the current system is corrupt. We are very spiritual. We are all looking at oracles and seeking to worship. But most of us do not worship truly, most of us don’t discipline ourselves, and most of us forget that the process of fitness and study and work is to remain physically and emotionally and spiritually fit, so we can glorify God.

I think Froning (the pic was lifted from my crossfit coach’s timeline on the Borg) knows that. He aims to glorify God. In that, even more than his ability to do fantastic physical things, we should note him as an example.

For the worship of God is the beginning of wisdom. That worship is painful.

The spirituality of the converged is easy, unchallenging, and leads to death. Choose life.
