In the alt right there is a lot of hatred of the tribe. Much of it is justified, for secular Jews turned to socialism and multiculturalism as new religions. Forgetting that if Islam hates Christians, it truly hates Jews. And forgetting, in their quest to signal virtue, that the first duty of a Jew is to ensure that their nation remains.
For there are prophecies to come about the House of David. They are largely relating to the Messiah. But… they will not come to be until the Jews turn and say to Christ “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD”. For without Christ there is no salvation. to Jew or Gentile.
And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. On that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great as the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
(Zechariah 12:9-11 ESV)
And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”
And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him, but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words.
(Luke 19:41-48 ESV)
There are here, however, two warnings. The first is that God will be against those nations that come against Jerusalem. Those that are now descending into chaos. Those who cannot provide security for their citizens, and where there is continual unrest: Islam does not bring peace but suicide bombers. Seeing the tribe as merely those who have sold their soul to the spirit of this age: be they socialist murderers (Leon Trotsky) or social capitalist manipulators (George Soros) is akin to saying the Reformed are merely the Ulster Defense Force. We need to remember that Christ was of the house of David, and Paul of the House of Benjamin.
The second prediction is that Jerusalem would fall because they rejected Christ. And herein is a warning to us. If Jerusalem would fall, so can our churches and our nations. If we reject Christ, Christ will reject us.
It is one of those ironies that within the fall of a society lurks antisemitism. The pagans, or at least the neopagans, be they the falls of wicca or the greater and more evil fools of the NSDAP or the CCCP, hate the Jews. In the West, the academy, which rejected Christendom and Christian Scholarship around the time J R R Tolkien died, now want to divest in Israeli businesses and support those who preach that the Jews must die because of the word of that demon Allah.
We do this at our peril. For if God is forgotten, and our nations stand against Jerusalem, God will stand against us.
And those great and noble edifices we have made — quite shoddily — will not even be fit for ruins.
