There is a storm in a teacup in NZ. The left are hurt, and the right are incredulous. The left are puzzled, for their demands for an apology, their walking our, their outrage… is met with mockery, sarcasm, and scorn.
For they have gone too far for the average Kiwi; if not average kiwi, the ilk who read whaleoil, and that is no small number of people with twitter accounts. In the process two of their new stars are being damaged. Because the petunias ruin everything.
But this will pass. These things always pass. It will not be remembered n a week, a month. It iwll be another scar for the sensitive and a scratch for the sane. Since these times are corrupt, and the sensitive not the sane run the progressive project, they are seeing failure in their future and are railing as they become part of the pages of history.
We have more important things to worry about.
And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. He answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed.
When the disciples reached the other side, they had forgotten to bring any bread. Jesus said to them, “Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” And they began discussing it among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.” But Jesus, aware of this, said, “O you of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Christ is the spirit of Prophecy: therefore through him the prophets spoke: as John wrote, he was and is the divine word. No serious Christian worships the Bible, no more than they worship angels: they worship God alone.
And we do not let ourselves get distracted by those who would legalize or micromanage. Who would accrete. Those who would add superstition on superstition, talking about angels as if they are not more powerful and intelligent than us, or bringing in spirits of an older time.
But that is not the challenge of this time. It is those who consider that all we say must fit into a narrative: a progressive narrative. As clones of Stalin or Hitler, they demand that all thoughts follow their ideology, and that they have a safe space.
And that safe place precludes us loving the LORD with all our heart and mind and strength. Listen not to this elite, they bleed from paper cuts. THey do not know where they are to go, and what to aim for.
Instead strive to improve, that we may indeed be in the marriage festival of the Lamb.
