This generation is accursed [I Cor 16]

Why should we confront Heretics? Why do I reply to those who question clear doctrine? Why do we not just allow things to slide, and be polite?

Why do I shock some with my language, and accept that I will not be accepted into the courts of the bishops?

For I did not put the reason I got there behind behind one of yesterday’s posts. The transcript, which I quoted from yesterday, was not to be released.

I was informed on the Thursday that the video would not be put online because I had hurt Scott’s feelings by suggesting that I would excommunicate him if he were a member of my church. He also thought that it would not be a good witness, and he did not want that statement put online (ironically of course it was put on line immediately and tweeted all over the place by some of his supporters). He informed me today, after further correspondence that he had instructed that the tapes be destroyed.
So what can we learn from this?

Let me qualify what I am about to say that my intention in this debate was not to attack the Church of Scotland. The moderator, Angus Morrison, had indicated quite rightly that he would be upset if this was to be used as an opportunity to attack the Church of Scotland. I was happy to tell him that there was nothing to fear on my part. as that was not my plan nor intention. In fact as I said at the debate, I was there to defend the Church of Scotland and the traditional Confessional theology of the Church of Scotland. I love the Church of Scotland and long for its renewal. I support those within the Kirk who remain to proclaim Christ and his Word. I would return to the Kirk tomorrow, if it returned to faith of its forefathers.

And I had people challenging me here, that there is no authoritative scripture. Over to Paul. He calls such people accursed, and calls us to be steadfast.

When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.

Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.

Now I urge you, brothers—you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints—be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer. I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence, for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people.

The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca, together with the church in their house, send you hearty greetings in the Lord. All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.

I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

(1 Corinthians 16:10-24 ESV)

One can look at how Paul talks about unity. He passes on news of Apollos, when there was a division between those of Paul and of Apollos. He mentions the workers in the church: leaders, men and women, including those whom he was staying with. As was his habit, he writes the last paragraph himself, as a sign of authenticity.

But he finishes with this statement: those who have no love for the LORD are accursed. And this is why we correct and confront. Our leadership often is fickle and falls, and for that they have to give account. But if we do not do what we can to correct and bring the church, as Robertson said, back to the faith, then we are failing in our duty.

And we know that these people would cheerfully account us as enemies.

Note that while normal SJW’s that infiltrate other institutions can pretend to have good intentions, the SJW’s that try have infiltrated the various churches cannot.

They don’t believe in the resurrection, most don’t actually believe in Christ, and in many cases ( Scott McKenna) they don’t even believe in the Christian God. So why do they try to infiltrate the churches when it would be far easier to form their own organizations to achieve their stated goals?

Well there’s only one entity that wants to “fundamentally transform” Christianity, so It’s fairly obvious who they serve.

We are told to be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves. So keep that email trail. Record what is going on. Provide transcripts (which is what happened with the Dave Robertson speech, and debate). Expect to be lied against, expect to correct them.

And never apologize for plain speech. There is hell awaiting this generation unless it reforms. It’s not the hookers or gays or thugs who need worry us: they know they are breaking the laws of God if not man and one can show them a way forward. It is the polite bulk of society who consider the destruction of marriage vows and honest dealing normal, and the death of thousands of infants a month proper, and now want euthanasia who are at risk.

Far too many of us are fearful of being told we say hate speech, or that we are impolite. We allow ourselves to be silent.

And we become, like the elite, under a curse.
