Now, I firmly believe that one should not resign: I agree with Mike C and Vox that if the press and their SJW minions demand your resignation you should just ignore them.
Some years ago one of my more senior colleagues: an epidemiologist with impeccable politeness and precision, who would never harm a fly, was analyzing the data relating to men who have sex with men and social violence. There was a correlation. A large one. She did her duty. She wrote it up, neutrally, and published it.
But the local petunias screeched and pointed. She was distraught. She thought she should resign. I was much junior to her, and much, much nastier that she is, so said no: this is honest work, and the yelling will die down. Do not resign. I was not the only person who did this
The petunias want scalps. Do not oblige.
For the SJW are not for the workers: they, and the modern left is weak, and even those few communists who remain can see that.
Those who interact with these people every day and then with the managerial class that piss their panties when the petunias shriek and yell… prefer the workers and the marginalized. For they may be incorrect in their discourse, but remain hones.
The left is a paper tiger — if it keeps hitting regular people with its bourgeois, upper-crust academic post-modern nonsense, it’s going to end up on the wrong side of an uprising. I’m an ex-leftist, I’ve read my Bakunin. You obviously haven’t. Just as Bakunin predicted the failure of Marxism, he also predicted the dangers of bourgeois intellectuals trying to lead popular revolutions. They have a habit of ending badly for the intellectuals.
The left has no popular support today. It’s a coalition of the bourgeoisie, and it’s pissing all over working class people. Even its sad attempts at racial war, of turning poor blacks against poor whites, will end badly. Poor blacks aren’t going to let rich credentialed bourgeois whites lead them.
In the event of an uprising, few people will have your back. Not working class whites, not working class blacks. The left is weak. You have the bourgeois media and you have the academy. You don’t have the police. You don’t have the army. You don’t have the workers. You barely have minorities — they’ll die for their own freedom, but they won’t die for yours, and when they realize what a bunch of parasitic twits you are, they’ll turn on you (it’s already happening in Detroit, not that you’d ever hear about it in the bourgeois left media).
Keep gloating about how strong you are.
…The working class in Europe supports a left-wing tradition that’s been abandoned by its intelligentsia. There’s a disconnect between working class people and the chattering classes that claim to act on their behalf.
I mentioned Bakunin in my original comment because he warned déclassé revolutionaries against trying to lead the workers. During his lifetime, he saw several instances of peasants, farmers and workers siding with kings and tyrants over would-be revolutionists.
People attack what they know. There’s a reason most successful revolutionaries have aristocratic or wealthy upper class roots. Bakunin was a noble, so was Lenin, Kropotkin was a prince, Ho Chih Minh was the son of an imperial magistrate, Che Guevara’s family was well off, so was Castro’s father. There’s an over abundance of privilege among revolutionary leftists. They were raised close enough to power to resent it (or desire it for themselves).
Workers though? They’re more likely to rub shoulders with petit bourgeois jerks than they are princes and business tycoons – and the more often they rub shoulders with the petit bourgeois, the more likely they are to get rubbed the wrong way by them. Workers have more experience with the disdain of the bourgeois progressive than the contempt of the wealthy aristocrat. Progressives are stupid in thinking that they’re the only ones who can tap into working class resentment.
Workers aren’t hostile to left wing economic policies, they are, however, hostile towards patronizing progressives speaking down to them and treating them like they’re scum. Everywhere across Europe, the far right is on the rise. Normal people are being radicalized by progressive intellectuals who dismiss their concerns and then publicly humiliate them if they don’t quiet down and do as they’re told.
The left is weak. If it doesn’t get its head out of the sand, it’ll wake up one day with a boot on its neck.
The next revolution is coming. It will be not a mass movement, but 4GW. It will not be limited to any one country. There will be no leader to execute and not cadre to put on a show trial. And it will not be of the left.
Given the open societies that we all have, only a small handful of billionaires and the heads of state are out of the firing line in a fortnight. This is why I like to be on the Lord’s side. I already know who wins. 🙂
