The rabbits and the living God.

OK, today I want to contrast between the rabbits and the living God. The rabbits, the Social Justice Warriors, do no evoke fear or awe or obedience. Instead they provoke resentment. The Living God does not provoke as much resentment as wonder and fear.

Fear.

When people are confronted with the living God and that is apparent to them as it was with the widow of Nain, they are terrified. God is no longer distant: he is no longer confined to the synagogue, but he has looked at the future of a widow, stopped a funeral procession, and returned a dead son to life.

After he had finished all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum. Now a centurion had a servant who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by him. When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant. And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy to have you do this for him, for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue.” And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed. For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.” And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.

Soon afterward he went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him. As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and “God has visited his people!” And this report about him spread through the whole of Judea and all the surrounding country.

(Luke 7:1-17 ESV)

So what can we say about the social justice warriors? About those who think that anyone who talks honestly about Christ, and what it is like to be male in this society as some kind of troll?

Well, by their methods and their fruit you can discern.

Using a “privilege” hierarchy
, SJW’s calculate the worth of a human being based on perceived injustices or wrongs that group has suffered since the time of ancestral man, using selective and narrow interpretations of history. SJW’s elevate groups that they believe have received the least amount of “privilege” in the past, and then use internet activism in the form of mobs and community purges to target those who are determined to have greater amounts of privilege. The idea of privilege is so essential to SJW ideology that a common debate tactic they use is to say “check your privilege,” which roughly translates to, “you must immediately halt or change your speech because your ancestors may or may not have done bad things to women or minority races.”

For example, if a notable white American male makes a joke about a lesbian black woman who practices Islam, SJW’s will coordinate using a combination of blogs, Youtube, and social networking to dox him (publish his personal information, including where he works). They will then pressure the man’s company by flooding it with calls and messages with the goal to remove his source of income while engaging in a mass reporting campaign to get his online accounts suspended.

Their ultimate goal is to silence all speech that they don’t like and which they find offensive while also punishing the speech offender by removing his source of income. As they grow in power, the acceptable range of speech that would trigger an SJW witch hunt is becoming more narrow, and those who are high up on the privilege hierarchy (white men) have to speak through a careful filter if they don’t want to be subject to an SJW attack.

Well,. that is called persecution. It was tried in the last election campaign here (with a certain amount of making shit up) and it failed. Abjectly. Because New Zealand is too small. The level of offense, the things these rabbits scream about, has become so trivial that they are now being mocked.

And in the church, we should have no part in this. For there is another part to Christ’s work. He cared for more than the tribe. The rabbits among the Jews wanted him only to talk to those who were correct, those of the tribe. He healed the servant of a master sergeant of the occupying force. He did not tell people to check their privilege. He did not filter things through a class analysis, and his preaching he filtered not.

We need to redevelop an sense of humour. We need to speak plain. We need to rediscover joy. And we need to remember that rabbits we are not.
