The most recent version of wordpress is out, and it has been installed. I’ve adjusted the theme to twenty fourteen, as I like the layout, and it probably improves readability. I’m also in the process of changing the widgets around so that the disqus comments show up in the widget bar.

The photo bar is gone — I think it gets in the way.

I am able to put “sticky” posts at the top of the page, magazine style… but this place is content driven.

I have the old cyberchimps theme hidden, so if this is much worse than before please let me know!

UPDATE.

I’m nixing the disqus widget: it does not work. If you want to comment, click on the post. I have added back a tag cloud… and am trying to tag each post as I write it.

UPDATE II/III.

I have managed to get the comments widgets working with Disqus, so they are up. I am going to nix feedweb — it is increasing the spam coming in. However, for reasons that I don’t want to fix — because I am fairly sure WP will break this — the number of comments for each post reflects not disqus, but wordpress: and that (generally) reflects the number of trackbacks.

You can comment with disqus, wordpress and I think facebook and google plus, but only wordpress ones are counted.
