Let us go from that and Judd’s tendency to hold those who have children in contempt, and disavow the very systems that trained her musically as old fashioned and antifeminist, and move to the test.

Jeremiah 5:1-9

¹   Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, look around and take note! Search its squares and see if you can find one person who acts justly and seeks truth — so that I may pardon Jerusalem.
²   Although they say, “As the LORD lives,” yet they swear falsely.
³   O LORD, do your eyes not look for truth? You have struck them, but they felt no anguish; you have consumed them, but they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to turn back.

⁴   Then I said, “These are only the poor, they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the LORD, the law of their God.
⁵   Let me go to the rich and speak to them; surely they know the way of the LORD,
the law of their God.” But they all alike had broken the yoke, they had burst the bonds.

⁶   Therefore a lion from the forest shall kill them, a wolf from the desert shall destroy them. A leopard is watching against their cities; everyone who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces — because their transgressions are many, their apostasies are great.

⁷   How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me, and have sworn by those who are no gods. When I fed them to the full,they committed adultery and trooped to the houses of prostitutes.
⁸   They were well-fed lusty stallions, each neighing for his neighbor’s wife.
⁹   Shall I not punish them for these things? says the LORD; and shall I not bring retribution on a nation such as this?

Yesterday I discussed how the Pope has had many problems, and these are a scandal. He is moving on. The church has scandals in all its branches, and it is unwise for us Prots to crow at the problems the Papists have. For we ourselves are just as ridden with evil.

But this is universal. Our society is corrupted. We are at that point where the righteous are leaving or have left: they have been silenced. The snark about the RCC at present is huge, with anti Papist calumny occurring, as if you are either married or ghey.

Part of our job, as lay folk, is to be the righteous man and woman. The one that Jeremiah was seeking. For righteousness has nothing to do with status or wealth, but obedience and justice. We have reached the point that our society does not know what this looks like, and iinstantly use the tactics of the troll — the personal insult, crudity, sexualization — to discount, to bring down. anyone who attempts to live correctly or teach correctly.

In doing this these people admit their shame. They do not want these subjects discussed. It’s much easier to be cool, a hipster, to love irony, and enjoy the spectacle of Western destruction than it is to build a home, raise a family, help a community, preserve the good and help the needy.  But since our leaders are far too busy lusting over each other’s husbands, we need to not ask permission, nor beg forgiveness, but remain. That will be aggravation enough.
