Rescued from the Borg.

On the matter of increased “hate” as perceived by the left.

Scott put this up on Facebook. It is worth saving, for the Borg is a land of censorship.

If I am honest, there is something they are detecting. I cannot deny it. Since the election of Donald Trump, many of us on the right feel something palpable. Or rather, the lightening of something off our shoulders. Trump has indeed announced that Americans once again have a license to speak their minds.

The left hears “speak their minds” and after it goes through their politically correct, knee jerk totalitarian instinct filter, it is translated “hate.”

THIS is what they are detecting. It is called freedom, and they hate it. A little bit of it squeaked out. The left has always hated it.

I write “left” and “leftists” because there are no “liberals” anymore. Liberals used to make up a group within the political right and left of center who were not afraid of words. They believed in meritocracy. They did not fear the pursuit of objective excellence, beauty and the sublime. They welcomed such pursuits, as long as it was fair. Disagreements between “liberals” and “conservatives” of old did not descend into the vitriol and hate of today because both sides believed that America was the pinnacle of western civilization, and that was a pretty good place to start. The left now openly mocks the idea of such a civilization being the greatest and worth fighting for.

Living in a “free” country literally means, by definition that you MUST hear and see things that are offensive to your personal values. After 45 years of life, I have my doubts as to whether or not this is actually possible. But it is SUPPOSEDLY the system we have.

“Liberals” of that kind are now called “conservatives” because they have no home in the hodge-podge of leftist lunatics that include deeply partisan identitarians, (real) racists, social justice warriors, angry gender political agitators, and other TRULY intolerant misanthropes. Some comments that give hope. No links back, so Faceborg does not monetize its nosiness.

It is the left who hate people. This is the Kiwi Leftists, celebrating that we are losing our NZ Ambassador (our foreign policy is shocking: Cam Slater called it correctly –McCully, the minister of Foreign Affairs is pwned by the Saudis — and so he shares the hate).

Oh what a wonderful gift in a year torn asunder by hate and pain, after NZ pushed for a UN vote against the illegal occupation of Palestine, Apartheid Israel has thrown a temper tantrum and recalled their ambassador from New Zealand!

Oh happy day, oh glorious day.

Now if only we can get them to take their fcuking blood drenched embassy with them and leave until they accept peace and a 2 state solution, we’d be on track for some actual justice in Palestine.

Unfortunately with a pro-Apartheid Israel cheerleader like Trump in the White House next year, such joy and global courage will become smothered, but let’s enjoy the shame and embarrassment Apartheid Israel has had to endure in the final moments of 2016.

Oh, and PS – is there ANY chance that with your ambassador you could take your mate Cameron Slater with you as well

?

We hate sin, and can appreciate those who are good though they are not of groups we like. Scott wrote this on his home blog and we need all the inspiration we can get

Every single employee at the Dollar General near my house is a freak. I mean, WAY outside the socially normative left and right limits. Think about how a buttoned down, uber right wing grumpy middle aged Christian heterosexual man would define “freak” and all that entails. You can just tell they live on the margins of existence, socially awkward, weird looking. One is a transsexual/transgendered person. Another is a super skinny, pimple faced, no eye contact geek who walks down hwy 281 to work every day.

HOWEVER–Every single one of them are sweet, kind, friendly, helpful and genuinely human.

If I had their job, their lives, I would probably consider suicide. Yet each one of them seems to float above it all. Cheerfully going about their day, price-tagging things, restocking shelves and untangling the cash register receipt tape. Always a smile. Always a “hello!”

Living here these last 2 years, I have grown to love them. Yes, love.

I will miss them when we move. Going to dollar general here is one of the small pleasures I get from this place, because the people that work here are wonderful.

Hate the sin. Care for the people. And pray, always that Christ will return before we truly ruin his creation.
