Scrapbook 2

Some lifehacking experiments I’m starting.

  1. I have taken off my fitbit tracker. Measuring steps is too easy a proxy measure and I think I have done enough if I’ve walked 8 km or so. More important is getting a decent run or metcon every day, and noting my lifting and weight.
  2. Coming home for lunch. Doable at casa pukeko. Cheaper, and less likely to eat junk
  3. Going as close to zero carbs as I can
  4. Using a bullet notebook instead of a diary

Because I don’t want to look like this, or be like this.

As far as social media is concerned, I am mainly now linking the blog to gab. It gets automatically added to my facebook — but my facebook is generally friends only and used to keep up with Crossfit, SF fandom and the Saturday Morning Music Classes.

I am using Twitter a lot less. It is now deleted from my phone.

I’ve found that the more I use Twitter, the less I use Facebook.

Twitter, despite the superficial stupidity of the platform, is actually useful.

Facebook, because of the stupidity of the platform, is not. FB is just good for cat pictures and having your online presence logged and stolen by corporate sponsors.

Disagree. Twitter is now for advertising. Communication will occur in places such as Gab. The Fork is proceeding as expected.

  1. Twitter is okay *IF* it’s used as something of a loose-affiliated group communication system. For much of any actual type of discussion, it’s worthless. Though it’ll give way to more useful methods in the future.

Though it’s sort of fascinating to watch the rather rapid implosion of most of the Web 2.0 major players. Mostly because, aside from Facebook, no one actually makes any money. And Facebook will likely start to run into problems soon as well.
