Theology still queen science is

The conseuqences of theological failure are upon us.

Theological failue? Yes. For theology gives us the axioms, the assumptions on which we build our logic: philosophy are reason are but the slaves of the Queen of Sciences. Even our enemies know this, and they thus subvert the philosophers and theologians first.

Our medieval ancestors understood theology to be the queen of the sciences. Her twin sister Sophia (the Greek word for “wisdom”) was also venerated in the discipline of philosophy. It was hard to tell the two beauties apart, but together they once ruled the many domains of human knowledge.

Philosophy and theology departments today, however, are increasingly irrelevant backwaters in the modern university, engaged in seemingly solipsistic debates. If they want to reclaim exalted status in the university and society, they would do well to embrace Big History as the primary “revelation” and the Great Matrix of Being as foundational knowledge.

The Great Matrix of Being, as I put forth in my last essay, is a multi-dimensional scientific understanding of reality measured in universal scales of chronology, size, energy density flow, electromagnetic radiation and thresholds of emergent complexity. This is contrasted with the now antiquated “Great Chain of Being” employed by medieval Muslims, Jews, and Christians.

Yeah, right. The prophets had something to say about this. That such society would rot, and despite the increased discussion of sexuality and freedom, would be less happy, more despairing, and less productive. There would be less children, and those would be broken.

For true theology leads to true science. The Convergence has swallowed theology and philosophy at the university, and left them useless. It has destroyed the arts, arts, and is trying to knock the last part of music away. And it is trying to destroy the hard sciences, using grounded theory and post modernism as a vector.

This will not end well.

Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land.
There is no faithfulness or steadfast love, and no knowledge of God in the land;
there is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it languish,
and also the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens, and even the fish of the sea are taken away.

Yet let no one contend, and let none accuse, for with you is my contention, O priest.
You shall stumble by day;the prophet also shall stumble with you by night; and I will destroy your mother.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

The more they increased, the more they sinned against me; I will change their glory into shame.
They feed on the sin of my people; they are greedy for their iniquity.
And it shall be like people, like priest; I will punish them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.
They shall eat, but not be satisfied; they shall play the whore, but not multiply,
because they have forsaken the LORD to cherish

(Hosea 4:1-10 ESV)

It is worth noting that struggle leads to religiosity, but prosperity and a lack of inconvenient duties lead to selfishness. You stop living for others, and start living for yourself. You forget that the prosperity we have exists because we don’t let the rules of nature remain, but work hard to make a life for each other.

If we are corrupt, our politicians are corrupt. Politics is downhill from culture, and culture from theology.

There are those who would define this as the rabbit (R) versus the wolf (K). The rabbit breeds frequently, and children are fungible, a high death rate is accepted, and the strategy is to outbred the reaper. The alternative strategy is to pair bond and take time to raise your pups. This is the functional position for humans. It takes at least sixteen years to train a child to be independent, and more like 20 years in our technological society to reach the point where you are self-supporting.

You can’t expect the r/K-ignorant to understand why, but just documenting the data is a step in the right direction. When things are conservative, and right-wing, as in the post-war period during the fifties, you get a baby-boom. There is a reason for that.

When the process of conception and birth in under physical and logical control of individuals, such as it is when you have easy access to birth control and abortion, you cannot import r-strategists to improve your birth rate, nor should you want to. r-strategists, lacking a desire to rear children, will simply choose to avoid conception, and abort any fertilized eggs and fetuses who escape that.

A far better plan would be to K-ify the population, so as to trigger the suite of K-urges within their brains. Once you do that, the increased rearing urge will lead them to want to have children in the same way a child wants a puppy. It is counterintuitive, but by exposing people to harsh, coming of age ceremonies, such as by making military service mandatory after schooling, you could vastly increase your birthrate very quickly.

I have said for years that the next turning will be to tradition. We will rediscover Christendom. Because we have gone down the path of degeneration far further than we thought. We have removed all restraint. We now point and shriek at those who set rules and live by them. We cannot stand to have the faith preached, for the words of Moses damn us and the words of Christ call us to reformation and repentance.

But yesterday one of my relatives friends was asking about why the crime rate was increasing in ner country town in Manitoba. Because wha is happening will disgust all.

And disgust makes us turn away from convergence.

Let us all pray that today we return to the cross.

  1. Interesting. Of course I’m in a position to observe a strong correlation between being deployed and getting married/engaged/knocking your woman up… I thought everyone else understood that too.

I think we’re losing something important as it relates to truth and life as we lose touch with our animal selves.

  2. Deus vult?

    Yup. Deus vult. 🙂

I saw a recent link to one of the memes for it, and I realized it’s probably more applicable to reality than we want to yet admit.
