Poem of the day five.

Julian O’Dea is a retired civil scientist in Aussie. He put his poem of facebook, as it had been accepted for a poetry webzine. I like it.

Because I miss summer, and live in the South, where winter rules for all but a couple of months a year.

And, if it is on the Web, it is fair game.

Summer Returns

“Remember me?”

asks Summer,

letting down her hair

from her

golden bonnet.

“How could you forget

how you sweated

in my scented

embrace?”

“Forget Winter!

That cold bitch never

loved you.”

  1. “where winter rules for all but a couple of months a year.”

I know places where that applies in this hemisphere, e.g. northern Manitoba! 😉
