Pathetically gay fascism. lquotage]

Via Instapundit, The corporations are going fascist, and very gay. The new intolerance is not very efficient. What should matter is if you can do the job, not what colour you are, what is between your legs, or what is between your partner’s legs.

This is a company wide survey. All lines of business have the same survey. There was a question where it said to check the boxes that were applicable to you. You could select one, more than one, or none. Here it is:

Are you: 1) A person with disabilities; 2) A person with children with disabilities; 3) A person with a spouse/domestic partner with disabilities; 4) A member of the LGBT community.

I thought 4 was a little oddly placed, but oh well. It was the next option that pulled the needle off the record:

5) An ally of the LGBT community, but not personally identifying as LGBT.

What?! What kind of question was that? An “ally” of that community? What’s the
alternative if you don’t select that option? You’re not a ally of the LGBT
community?

This survey wasn’t anonymous. You had to enter your employee ID. With the way things are going and the fact that LGBT rights are being viewed as pretty much tantamount to the civil rights movement of the mid 50s to late 60s, not selecting that option is essentially saying “I’m not an ally of civil rights”; which is a vague way to say “I’m a bigot.” The worry among many of us is that those who didn’t select that poorly placed, irrelevant option will be placed on the “you can fire these people first” list.

The other part of this is that the Church will be shunned, because homophobia. Today, the national news was celebrating Pride day by quoting Elton John and activists saying we should ban the Commonwealth because 42 of the 52 countries still have laws that make Homosexual Acts illegal.

They miss the disconnect between traditional mores (not all of those 42 countries are Christian. Not all of those countries are Islamic) and the modern, compulsory, celebration of homosexualism.

Which, well, offends me. I will stand up and defend the right of my Gay friends to live (unlike in many Islamic states. However, there is one standard within the church and law: and that is marriage or celibacy. I will agree with my gay, celibate friends that it is very hard…. because I am not in the married camp. But the current elite will brand me homophobic.

As if one’s conscience only has value if you bow to the correct Gods of this age.

Perhaps it is time for the Church to get out of the marriage business. Perhaps we can let the state have whatever ceremonies they want, whenever, but we will all “Go Roman” and only allow covenantal marriage, for life, with binding contracts that subvert the family courts. For church members only.

Perhaps then our churches will be banned.

But the demographics are not looking good for the elite. Too many will not breed. And the right are now wise to their ways, and advising their children not to join the corporation, not to be in that military, not to go to that university: for those organizations are stale, rotten and will destroy your intelligence and your soul.

It may be that the Gramscian “long march through the institutions” has ended just as the institution is replaced. Consider open source: if you go stupid, or do not maintain your software, the project will fork and someone will improve it. OpenOffice went corporate? Libreoffice replaced it. Firefox became Iceweasel or Pale Moon.

The university certifications may become less important than one’s training in this technique: with the exception of medicine, which has a 15-20 year apprenticeship and guild system, the skills matter more than the university. And even in my field, the Nurse Practitioners are taking second level jobs.

The trouble with this post modern liberal cult of intolerance is that it is whiny, fragile, and demeaning. Most people give it lip service, Tutkha. But when things matter, it is dropped, because if one does not remove inefficiencies the opposition will have an edge, for they have done precisely that.

And if you are lucky you will end up with a genteelly declining academic centre. I will admit such places are pleasant: I live in one. But it is far more likely that you will become another destroyed town: one with Detroit, Newark, and Tyre.

Finally, to the few homosexual people who come here (and I appreciate that) consider that Gay once meant fun, jolly, then meant a movement, and in the argot of my children’s generation the word means Pathetic, despite propaganda labeling this has bigotry.
