Vile linkage.

One of the few pleasures left in this over legislated world is enjoying good prose, particularly when vicious. I blame the PC, who are ably skewered by Jim Goad. Go there. Taki’s wants the traffic. While you are there, read Pat Buchanan’s discussion of how the two Americas are not even talking to each other — as the elite preach disarmament, the public raise two fingers and buy more guns.

Which worries Vanessa. Not guns (she is an army brat, after all) but multiple guns.

If every military-aged man owns a gun, it makes the government nervous. If every 11 year-old boy, his mamma, his kid sister, and his granny own a gun, it makes the neighbors nervous. I’m generally against the militarization of children and the female populace, and that also applies to the home guard. War is a man’s business, so man up.

Arming women so that they can safely make a trip to the grocery store is a gross display of patriarchal poverty that American men should find absolutely shameful.  If your neighborhood is so unsafe that your woman lives in fear, you should move to a safer neighborhood or start a militia to clean up the place.

What Vanessa is hinting at but does not say is that men in the USA are not allowed to protect others. They are always assumed to be guilty, which encourages them to be passive and  to depend on the state. It may make women see that they have difficulty with being armed — and let’s face it, a firearm is a lot more female friendly and requires a lot less training than a polearm or broadsword. Or, at 120 lb, defending yourself against a 200 plus pound man.

Besides, as Bill Price points out, men are now legally made to be slaves.

Communism is set up on the principle of “equality,” which is antithetical to the principle of “liberty.” If we are all to be equal, we cannot be free, because individual choices have different results. This is in direct conflict with English common law, which was developed on the basis of protecting liberty (e.g. property rights) rather than equality (redistribution).

Second wave feminism was directly influenced by Communist theory, and it was second wave feminists who wrote and implemented family law starting in the 1980s. The Violence Against Women Act was also strongly influenced by these Marxist feminists (despite Joe Biden’s fraudulent claims of authorship), who have little regard for concepts such as due process, rights of the accused, and so on. In fact, if you take a close look at the way family law has come to operate, it resembles Soviet law very closely. It is neither criminal law nor civil law, but some strange hybrid that purportedly “levels the playing field.” In so doing, men are substitutes for the “class enemies” of the Communists — capitalists, bourgeoisie, aristocrats, etc.

Guilt need not be established for a man to be dispossessed, children may be used as hostages, detention without trial is frequently employed and a mere accusation is enough to remove a man from his home. In many cases, child support and alimony orders amount to debt bondage (a form of slavery). All is justified because women are seen as an exploited class by feminists, and efforts to rectify this cannot be hampered by “reactionary” (Futrelle frequently uses that term — shows his true colors) notions of due process, trial by jury, and presumption of innocence.

Obama is a socialist: he lives in a bubble, and forgets that the USA, like France, is two countries. . The technocratic and political elite, who consider everything through the lens of political science and see themselves as Philosopher-Kings, and the traditional, religious, and grounded: whom the elite call uncultured and peasants, forgetting that culture is always based on tradition: the soil and habits of the country.  In both countries, ideology blinds the elite from this: the British squires are far more pragmatic as they spend extensive time in the country getting their hands dirty and bloody.

You see, the elite, pretend that they understand more than they do. They have no time for real science, for real science is about rigour and doubt. They mistrust medicine and engineering because they do not understand that the art of applying scientific principles to individual cases is difficult, and they mistrust anyone without their expertise, gilding this with cod Foucault.

This leads to people wondering what the true nature of man is, or woman. And when the conversations become real, they become painful. The result of men becoming enslaved by the family courts is men choosing not to interact with women… and this horrifies SSM.

On a more positive note, Grerp is back. I hope she will produce more wisdom. Haley has some good advice for us all, about caring for our appearance and about choosing to have sensible conversations.

Regardless, let us finish with a hymn from that great Englishman and Catholic poet, Chesterton.
