Lies make you foolish.

Last night my Dad said something about how those with no intelligence or common sense are having kids… while the jobs for those without any motivation, intelligence or common sense are disappearing. That there is a class dependent on the state. He recalled that Apirana Ngata had said that the development of a welfare state would be a disaster for Maori. And over three generations, this has happened

We have rewarded being dependent and censured those who can see clearly and speak frankly to the point where our society is blind, for we would rather believe a lie.

Isaiah 29:9-14

9   Stupefy yourselves and be in a stupor,
blind yourselves and be blind!
Be drunk, but not from wine;
stagger, but not from strong drink!
10  For the LORD has poured out upon you
a spirit of deep sleep;
he has closed your eyes, you prophets,
and covered your heads, you seers.

11The vision of all this has become for you like the words of a sealed document. If it is given to those who can read, with the command, “Read this,” they say, “We cannot, for it is sealed.” 12And if it is given to those who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” they say, “We cannot read.”

13  The Lord said:
Because these people draw near with their mouths
and honor me with their lips,
while their hearts are far from me,
and their worship of me is a human commandment learned by rote;
14  so I will again do
amazing things with this people,
shocking and amazing.
The wisdom of their wise shall perish,
and the discernment of the discerning shall be hidden.

We don’t need strong drink anymore. We are drunk on ideology.  We are in the end phase of Gramscian Socialism (or more properly, neo-feudalism) where people have been divided into blocks that are dependent on the state, and this has led to a decrease in production (because of the burdens businesses have in complying with the regulations bought in by our overlords) and a lack of motivation.

Young people are told it is not their fault: they need to remain in solidarity with their group, and justice will eventually come. However, the elite have no interest in this: for if justice comes it will destroy their reason for being.

And we have bought into this within the church. We have allowed the activists to divide us into racial groups, divided us by generation, sex and age… and then within each group we have become blind, seeing the problems as outside our control.

This is not the way it should be. We are not supposed to be foolish, but wise. We are not supposed to divide but instead form families that work together to provide for each other and to do good in the greater community.

And we are supposed to mistrust the state in good times. This should apply doubly when the state is led by fools, blinded by the lies they cling to.

  1. Think of the slavery that hugo chavez puts his people under. The welfare dependence of the people completely domesticates them, kills creativity and innovation and encourages poverty.

    1. Well, I live in NZ, and at times we have flirted with Chavez like socailism (Robert Muldoon is the period I am thinking about, so… yes.
