David Farrar is a Kiwi pollster. He kept John Key on target during the last election by continuous polling and reassuring him that the issues in the press were not the issues that the electorate were interested in: this led to National increasing its vote share (which is all that matters in a proportional voting) at the end of their second term of office.
From Facebook this morning.
Starting to get worried and think Trump may win. Clinton labeling a quarter of all Americans as “despicable” was a huge blunder and then a day later she faints, resurrecting health scares. The next few polls could be very interesting.
Scott Adams comments are similar.
You probably wonder if the “overheated” explanation is true – and a non-issue as reported – or an indication of a larger medical condition. I’m blogging to tell you it doesn’t matter. The result is the same.
Here’s why.
If humans were rational creatures, the time and place of Clinton’s “overheating” wouldn’t matter at all. But when it comes to American psychology, there is no more powerful symbol of terrorism and fear than 9-11 . When a would-be Commander-in-Chief withers – literally – in front of our most emotional reminder of an attack on the homeland, we feel unsafe. And safety is our first priority.
Hillary Clinton just became unelectable.
The collapse narrative continues to change. It has led to her cancelling campaign stops. I;m writing this on Monday, but it is SUnday night or early Monday morning in the USA.
“Hillary Clinton has canceled a trip to California planned for Monday and Tuesday, her campaign said late Sunday,” Politico reported in a breaking news alert late Sunday night. “The cancellation came after Clinton abruptly departed a 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York City on Sunday morning. Her campaign later disclosed that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday.”
The cancellation comes after hours of uncertainty, where her aides were unclear with press whether she would be able to carry on with a planned West Coast fundraising trip on Monday and Tuesday after a medical emergency she experienced during the September 11 commemoration event in New York on Sunday.
The medical problem was blamed on “overheating and dehydration,” and a pneumonia infection which was diagnosed on Friday, according to campaign statements.
The Democratic campaign has come down to virtue signalling and accusing the Trump of corruption. Their candidate is unwell. May she get better. It will make no difference to the election: from now on all appearances are ritual, kabuki.
She lost the election when she fell, or the people counting the votes will ensure she does not lose.
