I tell all of my foreign friends to stay out of the U.S. until such time as this country regains its senses, if ever. If you can avoid coming here at all costs, continue to do so for the foreseeable future. We clearly do not deserve to be graced with the presence of friendly foreign visitors, nor to be blessed with the money they spend here, a fair portion of which is confiscated in the form of taxes to fund the tyrannical and criminally incompetent “Homeland” Security bureaucracy that makes their visits (whether attempted or successful) such living hell.

Know this, though: most (yes, I will say MOST) of us Americans despise and mock this sickening institution even more than non-Americans do and eagerly await its dissolution, either through the political process or the Natural Law forces of socioeconomics. A more profound and humiliating national embarrassment is difficult to conceive of, with the possible exception of the current occupant of the White House.

While I’m sure it’s not my place to do so, I apologize anyway on behalf of Americans with consciences everywhere.

You don’t annoy your friends, but you also don’t help your enemies. As a “good progressive personality” etc etc, if you were in her place and she were aware of your views, she would not support you.

There are a lot of people in the world you can lend your support to. Many of them are far more likely to be your friends.

It would be pleasant if we could assume by default that anybody from the civilized world were a friend of civilization, but that turns out not to be the case.
