My local Presby has a charismatic minister and he’s become all excited about Ken Fish and the Vineyard Church. Gary Best from Vineyard was invited by our minister to do a sermon on Sunday night in our hall. Having googled Vineyard I was worried and sat through a 45 minute lesson on experience with no mention of sin or the atoning sacrifice it required to reconcile us to God. No Gospel at all, nothing, zip, but Apostles being placed on equal footing with Christ, no faith but lots of excitement, an ongoing need for a fix requiring the Holy Spirit to show us wonders over and over, asking God to do what we want not asking Him to reveal what He would have us do for Him, scripture tortured, etc … And so it went on. The audience appeared excited and were not remotely bothered that there was no Gospel and the message was non-scriptural and riddled with error. I had wondered whether to go but was pleased I did as at least some one saw rubbish preached and challenged it although to no effect.

Seen it. Generally this destroys churches

Agreed
