If I am in the UK in the next few months I need to find Breitbart’s offices so I can shake Milo’s hand. He has courage. The twitter capture below is from this. However, I won’t be in the Northern Hemisphere this antipodean summer: Milo can be relieved — for I would definitely lower the aesthetic standards of his surroundings.
What we have here is an example of feminist (or by extension) SJW violence: physical and verbal confrontation of a counter demonstration, and after assaulting the counter demonstrators, claiming victim status, and asking the police to arrest the very people the have abused.
Milo Yiannopoulos, a senior editor for Breitbart News, was also ejected from the event.
Police were called to the Slut Walk at approximately 1pm PT, where they were instructed by event organisers to escort Southern and Yiannopoulos from Pershing Square, LA, where the event was being held.
As event organisers were negotiating with Southern and Yiannopoulos, their pair’s placards were grabbed and torn up by furious Slut Walk activists. One placard, held by Southern, was salvaged.
Event organisers had been alerted to the presence of Southern after an activist for Planned Parenthood began warning other Slut Walkers that a broadcaster from The Rebel was asking questions.
(Evidently, organizers were familiar with Southern’s previous “Slut Walk” viral video for The Rebel. The June 2015 video depicting Southern’s experiences at a Vancouver Slut Walk made international news and has received over 850,000 views to date.)
Shortly afterwards, an organiser for the LA Slut Walk informed Southern and Yiannopoulos that without a special press permit, they had to turn off their recording equipment or be removed.
When asked if they could film on a personal phone, as many other ticketed attendees were doing, they were also denied.
Southern and Yiannopoulos then unfurled protest signs reading “Regret is not rape” and “Rape Culture and Harry Potter — both fantasy.”
They were then set upon by angered Slut Walk activists who attempted to physically seize both signs.
Southern, Yiannopoulos and their crews were then escorted from the Slut Walk by L.A police.
In the end, Slut Walk activists, who claim to campaign against “heteronormative patriarchy”, had succeeded in ejecting a female politician and a gay journalist from a political event.
Milo commented on all this thusly.
It doesn’t take much to make a feminist angry. Their screeching intolerance is typical of a movement in crisis. But, let’s not lie… it’s a joy to behold. Especially up close. And a new wave of dissident cultural libertarian critics, comedians, politicians, journalists, academics and new media stars are taking full advantage, not because we want to use feminist shock tactics in reverse to convert people to libertarianism or even conservatism, but because we believe in full and unfettered classical liberalism and we reject any and all attempts to police culture and language.
The anger displayed by these third-wave feminists, and how quickly they slide into hypocrisy when we go off the reservation, is delicious. Some people say SJWs are only vicious behind a screen, but seeing the whites of their eyes at the Slut Walk was almost scary. Instead of discussing their views like adults, or trying to win us over, feminist activists immediately began plotting our ejection.
As we left the event, they shouted that the “trash” was being “taken out.” If the Slut Walk is treasure, I’m proud to be trash. And anyway, everyone knows Oscar is the best thing about Sesame Street.
So wny to these idiots, and that is what they are, have power? The answer is that tyranny has some power. People appease the violent, in the hope that they will first come… for someone else.
Most of us don’t go out and deliberately offend even the offensive. We simply vote with out feet.
Besides, we want to be seen as progressive and be approved by this society, even when it is crazy. And, on the US campuses with their hysteria and illogicality, sanity left not on the last bus but decades ago.
With such people in charge of our policies, as they are throughout most educational establishments, it’s no wonder that the ‘eat me last’ strategy is the best they can come up with.
It is also unworthy — as I said — of any human over the age of six.
Look, we live very comfortable and very safe lives by the standard of our ancestors. And I’m not going to preach about traditional morality, because some of your traditions are not my traditions. I mean, I do believe, on a spiritual level as well as on a practical one, that one defends oneself and also those who can’t defend themselves. It’s a moral duty, as well as a practical one.
But let’s go with the practical side, shall we? I’d bet you the majority of our ancestors are people who defended themselves and those of their group (whatever the group happened to be, and in most cases a tribe.)
Why?
Because groups where individuals didn’t defend themselves and didn’t defend those closest to them didn’t survive to contribute their genetics in any significant amount. Those mythical angelic noble savages who never raised a hand to another human being even while being slaughtered, if they ever existed, were the human equivalent of the Dodo. You are not of them and have nothing (or very little) in common with them, genetically.
Sarah is wrong on one point. Ideas have consequences. The verbal arguments that these harpies have are now being transformed by the state into petty fascism, where anyone who opposes their neuroses is “non platformed” — silenced by force.
Historically, this has not ended well. A society this rich and stupid does not remain rich. And those who do not defend themselves are but a set of targets, and those who will not provide for themselves will again have to work. Or starve. Because it is not merely feminism that has past its peak and now requires the force of the state to ensure that the narrative remains, but the family courts, the social welfare system, and the entire liberal project.
You cannot deny reality for even. For foolishness ruins a nation, or, as others have said. That which cannot continue for ever will stop.
