And I don’t mean from drones. We are in a new kind of war, where states are not the agents, but armed ideologies are.
But the Prime minister has said that he believes action needs to be taken in Syria to prevent the further escalation of the crisis.Announcing the strikes, Mr Cameron said: “My first duty as Prime Minister is to keep the British people safe. It surprises me that so much is known about these blokes even though they are miles away in a war zone. Clearly the old phrase “Loose lips sink ships”. needs to be taught again. Alternatively they need to leave the cell phone at home.
The main reason the damage hasn’t been truly terrible is that the attacks aren’t done by competent, rational insiders within the culture. The simple truth is modern countries could be obliterated with a fairly small amount of Men & Bombs. Granted, there are probably 10k or more US Citizens who could easily plan this. Military Planning isn’t that hard. Our weaknesses are also fairly readily apparent. This is why “culture” matters so much. And why modern politicians are so duplicitous.
