Over this week we have seen the left in full mob mode. Trying to “noplatform” Roosh — by trying to get him banned from Montreal and Toronto, trying to have demonstrations against his meeting, and losing. We have seen the same thing in Melhourne, where the hard left tried to block people going to a book launch because the Author was a member of the Liberal party: the party that makes up the government now.
As if the mob is not new. The mob is historical, and it has been used as a tool by ideologues. Ancient rulers despised and feared the mob: the object of having a republic and not a democracy is that the mob is fickle, and the polity unstable. The Romans had seen the example of Athens, and learned something from it.
But at present, the mob is feared overmuch, which is why in the mainline press only those who belong to privileged classes can say things.
For those who don’t tweet or read Breitbart, Milo is gay, fabulously and gloriously so, and has multiple flaws. But he speaks truth. And the mob hates him, his status would not rescue him if he was caught within it: some things are not allowed to be said despite one’s status.
Apparently that included sharing the gospel with Gentiles. Or Gays: given that the greeks tolerated pederastic vice, probably both.
“When I had returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a trance and saw him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’ And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you. And when the blood of Stephen your witness was being shed, I myself was standing by and approving and watching over the garments of those who killed him.’ And he said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’” Up to this word they listened to him. Then they raised their voices and said, “Away with such a fellow from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live.” And as they were shouting and throwing off their cloaks and flinging dust into the air, the tribune ordered him to be brought into the barracks, saying that he should be examined by flogging, to find out why they were shouting against him like this. But when they had stretched him out for the whips, Paul said to the centurion who was standing by, “Is it lawful for you to flog a man who is a Roman citizen and uncondemned?” When the centurion heard this, he went to the tribune and said to him, “What are you about to do? For this man is a Roman citizen.” So the tribune came and said to him, “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” And he said, “Yes.” The tribune answered, “I bought this citizenship for a large sum.” Paul said, “But I am a citizen by birth.” So those who were about to examine him withdrew from him immediately, and the tribune also was afraid, for he realized that Paul was a Roman citizen and that he had bound him. (Acts 22:17-29 ESV)
Paul was not flogged at this time, for he also had a status: he was a Roman citizen, and when the centurion was told that he (centurions had to be literate) knew that to flog such was reserved for those conquered (such as that Jewish troublemaker this Paul Chap was preaching). Pula was spared, for a time.
But the mob remains an issue. Here I follow the advice of the lamented and gone blog Uncle Remus Do not be where the crowds are /. Yet I live in a university city: we have our own rent a mob: they are generally ineffective (the asset sales went ahead — despite this photo, taken via Google from the socialist internationalists).
The new tactic is to take down sites and silence speeches. To turn up and yell people down. There is but one answer to that: and that is to do our duty. Particularly when the mob is sponsored by the elite; as in this Argentinian example.
I hope the West turns from its current path: because we used to be bringing the gospel to the far endos of the earth, not trigger warnings, hate speech and demographic implosion. Repent we need to do.
Truth we need to speak. Including data no one wants to hear: And including that fact that the gospel is not for the polite, or the well meaning, or for our tribe that we like, but for all. And we all have to reform our lives and live for Christ. The alternative we are facing is Islam resurgent, which truly is a rape culture: and where having no history, no science, and the violence of the mob is seen as good, righteous and just — and they will put the feminisits and faggots up against the wall and shoot them as a warmup for beheading us.
In the moments before he raped the 12-year-old girl, the Islamic State fighter took the time to explain that what he was about to do was not a sin. Because the preteen girl practiced a religion other than Islam, the Quran not only gave him the right to rape her — it condoned and encouraged it, he insisted. He bound her hands and gagged her. Then he knelt beside the bed and prostrated himself in prayer before getting on top of her. When it was over, he knelt to pray again, bookending the rape with acts of religious devotion. “I kept telling him it hurts — please stop,” said the girl, whose body is so small an adult could circle her waist with two hands. “He told me that according to Islam he is allowed to rape an unbeliever. He said that by raping me, he is drawing closer to God,” she said in an interview alongside her family in a refugee camp here, to which she escaped after 11 months of captivity.
I am still waiting for the Turks and Iranians and Saudis and the rest of the Muslim world to descend on Syria and remove these barbarians. What I am seeing instead is Muslim me flocking to a holy war with benefits.
So let us reform and repent: rediscover our faith, bear witness to the rcoss and defend the innocent. While there is time.
