I learned it in school when I was young, but sadly my sons were given some pc crap which resulted in them hating English class even more.

When I read Horatius to them and showed them what warrior poetry was, they were quite taken with it and wanted to go out and do great deeds of daring. It was, in a sense, a view into the past where men were appreciated and valued for the contributions that they and they alone can make.
