There are many people who are looking at our society and consider that it cannot continue. You cannot continue to spend when you have run out of other people’s money — even if the state controls everything, as was the situation in the Soviet Union.

Reagan collapsed the Soviet Union by turning Marxist analysis of man as an economic and political animal against them: he relied on the fact the Americans could outproduce the Russians to collapse their economy.

But the Gramscian socialists turned the values of freedom of speech and tolerance against the West, and as Roosh says we are likely to be facing a societal collapse.

The Cultural Collapse Progression

1.  Removal of religious narrative from people’s lives, replaced by a treadmill of scientific and technological “progress.”
2. Elimination of traditional sex roles through feminism, gender equality, political correctness, cultural Marxism, and socialism.
3. Delay or abstainment of family formation by women to pursue careerist lifestyles while men wait in confused limbo.
4. Decreasing birth rate among native population.
5. Government enactment of open immigration policies to prevent economic collapse.
6. Immigrant refusal to fully acclimate, forcing host culture to adopt external rituals and beliefs while being out-reproduced.
7. Natives becoming marginalized in their own country.

Now, what could this mean? I’m referring back to a model that Alte wrote some time ago, relying on the experience of Argentina, which has gone leftist, to the detriment of their population. I think this is too positive a model for nations that are not fairly monocultural, and Argentina is primarily European, primarily Catholic, with lawful minorities: English, German and Asian. This is about as good as it gets.

Just like America, Argentina was a majority-white, Christian, wealthy democracy that faced economic decline after adopting statist/leftist policies and social liberalism. For this reason, I believe it offers more accurate clues to our future than a country like Russia or Egypt. So let us take a look at what happened to Argentinians after their economy collapsed.

1. Employment increased steadily following the collapse (data from World Bank). Both men and women went to work in higher numbers, but most of the growth was in agriculture and heavy industry, which favored men.
2. Teenage pregnancy and illegitimacy decreased, due to the near-elimination of the welfare system. Fornication increased however, because of government pressure to “liberalize” (patriarchy weakens a leftist state).
3. Half of the population plunged under the poverty line, but recovered as the country’s employment ratio rose. Nevertheless, economic inequality worsens.
4. The fertility rate held steady (at 2.2 now, down from 2.4 in 2001), while the household-formation rate decreased (indicating higher cohabitation rates, and adult children moving in with their parents). This would imply that more children are being born within intact families.
5. The marriage rate increases, as does prostitution. (Divorce was only recently legalized.)
6. Consumer prices for basic goods have doubled, as the currency lost worth. This discourages household-formation, as economies of scale become more important to survival.
7. Crime rates increase at an astonishing rate. Rape, murder, and robbery become commonplace. Kidnapping for ransom money becomes a minor industry.
8. College enrollment drops dramatically, as students leave to earn money to help support their families.
9. Child poverty is much higher than before, with child labor again common. In Buenos Aires, the majority of those under 18 live in poverty, and children and the elderly starve to death regularly (12 children per day).
10. Health care becomes harder to acquire and medicine becomes prohibitively expensive. People routinely die from preventable diseases, and outbreaks regularly ravage the population — even the middle and upper classes. 17 children die per day from lack of adequate health care.
11. Automobile accident, suicide, and stress-related deaths increase rapidly and dramatically. The car deaths come from higher drunk-driving rates, the poor conditions of the cars and roads, and the fact that nobody wants to stop at a red light or a stop sign anymore (car jackings).
12. Class warfare is common in politics and on the streets. Everyone is armed to the teeth, and the shrinking middle and upper class lives behind gates and barbed wire. It becomes de rigueur for women to be brutally raped during robberies, so their husbands learn to shoot invaders on sight.
13. Black-banking and bartering become commonplace, so that monetary transactions are hidden from the greedy hands of the government. Cash transactions increase, which fuels bank and ATM-robberies.
14. Middle-class (i.e. married) women’s and children’s movements are greatly curtailed, due to safety concerns. Protected women live under increasingly strict patriarchy, as men can no longer afford to be lax and permissive. Protected women are increasingly discouraged from working outside of the home, as travel is precarious. Children stop playing outside, and teenage girls are increasingly chauffeured and chaperoned.
15. People are increasingly homebound at night, to avoid criminal attacks.
16. Domestic violence increases, and white-knighting for victims becomes a winning sexual strategy again. In other words, abusive men both give and receive beatings in higher numbers. A related problem is that drug use and alcohol use increased.
17. Religiosity/spirituality and moral relativism increased, while mass attendance declined slightly.
18. Police pay gets cut, so they become increasingly corrupt and regularly ask for bribes. As a result, vigilante violence increases.

Now, that is something that is already happening in the USA and RSA. This fear of being hunted down and raped is the reason Oscar Pretorius (the blade runner) said he was armed, and said he shot at an intruder, not knowing it was his girlfriend.

Most people watching it probably do not know that only 8 percent of murder cases in South Africa result in a conviction, so killers have a 92 percent chance of literally getting away with murder! South Africa is both the murder and especially the rape capital of the world. Usually the statistics are massaged in such a way that only murder proper, called “first-degree murder” in the United States, is included in the absolute number of murders. But if one also counts other homicides with a lesser culpability, we are the world champions, even above India’s 43,000 homicides. But, of course, India has over 1 billion people, whereas we have just over 50 million. Even for first-degree murder, we have more of those per year (16,000) than the U.S. (14,000), which has six times our population.

Regarding the court procedures, Pistorius is spending a lot of money on his legal team, and the state is using an experienced Afrikaner prosecutor, Gerrie Nel. However, there has been large-scale affirmative action applied to the appointment of judges, so that many of them lack the knowledge of the law and the experience to do their job properly. In many cases, black offenders, especially, get off very lightly and in practice do not serve more than 10 years for first-degree murder.

The government is also applying pressure on lawyers to apply affirmative action in their own ranks as most of the top-level senior lawyers, or advocates, as we call them, are still white. They are preferred by the big-spending corporate clients in civil cases, especially. A lawyer friend of mine recently told me of one tedious corporate court case in Pretoria that has lasted 10 years and consumed $5 million in legal fees, also swallowing up her whole life. Ironically, even the president, Jacob Zuma – who has had more than 500 charges of corruption against him and was also accused of rape in December 2005 – used white Afrikaner lawyers to get him off, using their technical knowledge of the law and court procedures.

There is also rampant corruption in the criminal justice system, with policemen and petty court officials being bribed to make documents and evidence disappear, so the kind of televised court-room soap opera of the Pistorius trial is not at all representative of the vicissitudes of the average trial.

When justice becomes politicized, the mistrust increases. This can be made far worse if you tolerate the terrorist campaigns of raping looting and killing that occur at the Christian boundary with Islam across sub-Saharan Africa (and to a similar extent within the most traditional islamic countries: I have talked to a fair number of immigrants from that part of the world and they thank Allah that they are out from having to fear for their children and wives every time they walk down the street).

In multiculturally enriched countries, when the socialist train stops, it will be far uglier than Argentina. Perhaps Russia is a better example. For it fell, hard, when the Soviet Union fell, and lost core parts of the Russian Empire such as Belorussia and the Ukraine. But then, Russia has a minority problem.

And Putin has turned to the same analysis that Roosh had. He has decided to rediscover religion, and the limitations that places on people. Perhaps this is because he converted: there is a deep strain of patriotism within the Russian Orthodox, and that church survived the modern period of neomartyrs intact. But the return to faith has led to a resurrection of a society in a death spiral. I may have quoted this before, but it applies not merely to the USA and Russia.

Putin’s mission is to save Russia from dissolution. Ten years ago, with a fertility rate of just 1.2 children per female and fourth-world life expectancy for men, Russia seemed doomed. The fertility rate since has recovered to 1.7, for reasons we do not adequately understand. Part of the reason surely is renewed national self-confidence.

Russia is not a shallow country. The opening pageant for the Sochi Olympics set Russian skill at ballet against the music of Russia’s great composers in an idealized (to say the least) depiction of Russian history. Still, it was quite beautiful. Contrast this to the bathetic clowning at the London Olympics, with James Bond and Elizabeth II sky-diving into the stadium.

Putin’s seizure of the Crimea has made him an object of opprobrium in the United States and a hero at home. He has revived the old pre-1914 nationalism with some degree of success. This was never a pleasant thing (as my ancestors who suffered in the Russian Empire well knew), but it is the only identity Russians appear to have after the fall of Communism. The attraction of this kind of national renewal should not be underestimated. The West thought that it dealt a blow against dictatorship at Maidan, but only succeeded in boosting the popularity of Russia’s dictator to an extent few considered possible.

I do not know whether Putin will succeed. But I am sure beyond the shadow of doubt that if we keep making billionaires out of scum like Dr. Dre, we will fail. There was something better than Russian-style nationalism once. It was American patriotism. If we forget it, the land will puke us out.

Pray that this does not happen: but stopping it will require a revival.
