It didn’t upset me that a couple of multiple choice answers were screwed up – it upset me that she couldn’t say WHICH answers were screwed up so the teachers could simply say, “the answer to 23 is A.” Or “Re-write question 28 to read, 3+4 =?”. Apparently the teachers were supposed to hover and figure it all out themselves. -sighs-

Lunchtime: read it. The proper response is to redo the test, or delete the test, and do formative assessment —

“Suzy, you said 2+2=5. But is this the correct answer? Why don’t you count with me? Yes, it is 4. So let’s review our addition again, OK?”
Over assessment and thoughtless assessment is damaging. And these faults exist locally.

The schooldistrict my children would attend if they attended public school. Fortuitous timing, my daughter’s HS efforts are irritating me… it would be nice to hand her off to a teacher. Just not anyone associated with THIS teacher. Ah well. I can suck it up and be a meanie.
