This goes for ourselves as well as others. Like a preacher once talked about “push the gas pedal on”, I was thinking “why don’t we try to push it down through the floor boards”. The problem is that no one really takes anything seriously, and I think that comes out through the common misinterpretation of that passage. As Paul writes:

For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. (1 Cor 5:12-13)

With the wicked definition of marriage and as wicked as people have been surrounding it, why should anyone bother, if they are to offend God by doing it? Church, purify thyself! Do you not know that:

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17)

If those who are wicked claim to know God and claim to practice God’s things such as marriage in His manner, how much more the wrath on them than those outside? Repent and put away the wicked person who persists, Church!
