A four year old going LALALALA is irritating but still a little cute. A ten year old doing it is irritating, and it is creepy and wrong when and adult does it.

There are some things so stupid only an intellectual (or quasi-intellectual) would say or believe them.

You seem to be saying we should tread lightly with the childlike, but children also need discipline. This relates to my use of that scripture today in that untrained minds, no matter how intelligent, will stumble. By not discipling the child, we set him up to stumble.
