Across the board, including kirks which are supposed to be reformed.

Classic example: Barry (my pastor) scraped through his B.Th. He has PhDs in theology in the congregation. (University town). Barry is a pastor — he is not the best thinker by far in the congregation. But he bleeds praying for us.

Often the laity have to correct the pastorate, since there is no real difference in education. (My Greek is lousy, but better than Barry’s for instance).

Many churches are afraid to address sins, or even acknowledge the
sinful behavior of the congregation [thrice divorced woman? Thou shall
not judge...] A church that only provides “warm and fuzzy” supportive
sermons must not believe it’s congregation is capable of committing
evil, and, well, that’s just poor theology.
