Psalm 115

The duty and joy of praising God belongs to this generation. It always belongs to this generation. The generations gone are at rest: the generations to come are yet not here.
The duty of praising God belongs to this generation. The way we praise God — the music we use, the words we sing — reflect the conflicts, concerns and theology of the generation.
16The heavens are the Lord’s heavens, but the earth he has given to human beings.17The dead do not praise the LORD,nor do any that go down into silence.18But we will bless the LORD from this time on and forevermore.

On the latest Hillsong DVD the pastor is checking the lyrics — so that they are theologically correct. What we sing is important.
