What I was trying to say is that it was precisely because of agriculture that we have cities at all. So, to abandon agriculture would mean the survivors adopting a hug/nintgathering way of life. I certainly have no objection for groups of likeminded families deliberately seeking to revitalize old parishes along the lines you outlined. In fact, I think such experiments, if and where successful, would be GOOD for us as a nation. Sincerely, Sean M. Brooks

No. I am 15 km out of Dunedin, still on the bus routes, in a village. Casa Pukeko was in the middle of town. Casa Weka is not.

Comment on Pohutukawa and other flowers (and a cat) by Chris https://pukeko.net.nz/photo/2017/01/pohutukawa-and-other-flowers-and-a-cat/#comment-1851 Sun, 22 Jan 2017 20:07:31 +0000 https://pukeko.net.nz/photo/?p=3552#comment-1851 The new place has too much clay. We have had to put gravel down so we don’t tramp it into the house. Robyn worked yesterday in rain because she HAD to finish this.

After we almost broke the car as it was full of bags of gravel — it just got up the drive.
