Technical things.

Some administrivia. I have loosened up who can comment to make it basically free — but at the same time increased the spam filters and put a limit on links.

I have had to delete Christian Men’s Defence Network (dead) and Grerp (gone private). I’ve posted on what happened to Xian men’s defence and I still miss Grerp’s posts. I have added Joseph of Jackson. His church want to keep all men as tame herbs: he is trying to change this and facing church discipline: pray for him.

Disqus now monetizes comments, and adds advertising to the bottom of the comment stream. This does not really make any money here, but it means we can use what I think is the best commenting system that is out there, so it is on to support them. You should be able to login to Disqus from twitter and facebook, if you want to track your comments across sites.

WordPress has (again) been updated. It seems that much of this is around multimedia.

On a more general note, I am using gnome + openbox on my Debian boxen. Cinnamon (which is available on my laptops ans they run Fedora) is much nice (I prefer it to Gnome3) but it is not stable enough for real work at present.  The other advantages of Debian is that it plays nicely with some commercial software I have to use — particularly Revman.

Finally, for anyone who wants to email — please use pukeko (at) pukeko.net.nz  Yes, I have other email addresses, but I control that mailserver, and what I do on this blog has little to nothing to do with my work.
